BIOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE

Dacarbazine belongs to the family of chemicals known as alkylating agents. It is an antineoplastic chemotherapy drug used in the treatment of various cancers.

CLINICAL USE

It is most commonly used to treat melanoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and soft tissue sarcomas

MODE OF ACTION

Possibly blocking the formation of inosinic acid. It interferes with cell growth and impedes the formation of new tissue - tumor tissue.
